Vinyasa yoga is a flowing practice, linking breath and movement in creative sequences which vary each week. Learn the fundamentals of this practice in our 4 week course created specifically for students new to yoga.
What Will I Learn?
The fundamentals of a Vinyasa practice and a little bit about the history and philosophy of yoga.
Variations of Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) sequences.
Asana (posture) fundamentals, breaking down key poses.
How to use the breath to focus the mind while moving the body with awareness.
The stabilising internal muscular locks (bandhas) which help us to balance strength with flexibility in the body and to create stability in the body.
There will be many opportunities to ask questions and your experienced teacher will guide you through the practice, offering modifications to your individual needs, in an open and supportive environment.
Building on what you've learnt each week, once the course is completed you'll feel confident to continue your Vinyasa yoga practice in any class!
