Ashtanga yoga is a dynamic practice which moves through a set sequence of postures, synchronising breath and movement, known as Vinyasa. The flow (Vinyasa) between each posture is an integral part of the practice designed to build internal heat to help purify the body.

What will I learn?
• You will be taught the fundamentals of Ashtanga yoga as taught to us by our teacher, Sharath Jois in Mysore, India
• The background of Ashtanga yoga
• The dynamic Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) sequence
• How to breathe to focus the mind and move the body with awareness
• The initial poses of the Ashtanga primary series, also called, Yoga Chikitsa (yoga therapy)
• The stabilising internal muscular locks (bandhas) which help us to balance strength with flexibility in the body and to create stability in the body
• There will have many opportunities to ask questions and your experienced teacher will offer modifications to the practice to suit your individual needs, in an open and supportive environment.
• On completion of the course you will feel comfortable to continue your Ashtanga practice in either an Ashtanga Led or Mysore style class.

$125 plus you will be given a free class to use anytime

Courses are non-refundable under any circumstances. We are happy to credit or transfer courses on a case by case basis.
