Vinyasa yoga is a flowing practice, linking breath and movement in creative sequences which vary each week. Learn the fundamentals of this practice in our 4 week course created specifically for students new to yoga.
What will I learn?
- You will learn the fundamentals of a Vinyasa practice
- A little bit about the history and philosophy of yoga
- Variations of Surya Namaskara (sun salutation) sequences
- Asana (posture) fundamentals, breaking down key poses
- How to breathe to focus the mind and move the body with awareness
- The stabilising internal muscular locks (bandhas) which help us to balance strength with flexibility in the body and to create stability in the body
- There will have many opportunities to ask questions and your experienced teacher will offer modifications to the practice to suit your individual needs, in an open and supportive environment.
- On completion of the course you will feel comfortable to continue your yoga practice in a Vinyasa style class
